One of our 2019 #Upgrades for our Every Heart Sister Membership is our new Sister Spotlight! Every single month we will feature one of our valued members and share some of what makes their HEART shine!
Our March Sister Spotlight is Allison Byrd-Haley. She has been a member of The Every Heart Project since its inception, and has attended every annual retreat, and almost every Elevate event and workshop! She is a faithful Heart Sister and known for her kindness and generosity. A native Texas, she grew up in Plano with her parents and sister. She always exhibited a caring and thoughtful nature, which drew her naturally into the world of healthcare and nursing. In 1998, her second child was diagnosed with cancer. Though a challenging time for her and her family, she leaned heavily on her faith and poured her love, knowledge and tenacity into helping her son get through the illness. She lovingly shares how "by the grace of God," her son was healed and recovered. She spent the next 10 years raising her two children as a single parent, until she met her wonderful husband. Shawn.
In 2011, Allison's mom and best friend, Marilyn, received heartbreaking news; she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Determined to overcome, Allison faithfully attended all cancer treatments with her mom for those three months, to ensure she always received the highest level of care possible. When her mother sadly passed away, Allison channeled her love and devotion for her precious mother into creating a non-profit organization to help future cancer patients with expenses and support. Heavenly Mimi was formed just three years after her passing, dedicated solely to providing blessings to those undergoing cancer treatment. Allison believes we have only one life to live, and all of us need to make a difference in the lives of others. To donate or get involved with this incredibly organization, visit her website at www.heavenlymimi.org.
Heavenly Mimi provides assistance with:
Gas cards to get to and from doctor appointments and/or treatment facilities.
Hotel stays to be near a treatment center if the patient resides more than 45 miles away.
Medical bills and medication reimbursement ranging from $50 to $250.
Mammograms for those in need. Prevention is key.
I asked Allison what she loves about being a member of The Every Heart Project, and here is what she had to say:
"I joined The Every Heart Project 4 years ago because it was a group like no other. The love poured into the project is amazing with everyone involved. I have never had so much support like I have from my friend’s who are members with The Every Heart Project! The sisterhood in this wonderful group will last a lifetime."
Thank you Allison for being a devoted Heart Sister and supporting the project with your whole heart! You are loved by so many Sisters, and we are delighted to honor you this month.
